Pay at table in Ireland
Pay at table moves the payment to the customer rather than moving the customer to the till. It depends on what your EPOS supports, so the workflow is worth checking before you buy hardware.
The workflow
Server selects the table on the terminal, the open bill loads, the customer pays, the order closes and the receipt is printed or emailed at the table.
Splitting
Bills can be split by item or by share on the terminal, with each part taken as its own card transaction against the same order.
Tips
The tip prompt runs after the amount is confirmed and is attributed to the server signed in on the terminal.
What it requires
A till platform that exposes open orders to the terminal, reliable venue Wi-Fi or mobile coverage in the service area, and enough terminals for your peak service.
